Job Objective
The objective of this role is to ensure that all GHC issued airworthiness documents are processed in a manner that is fully compliance with the regulatory requirements and meets GHC compliance standards.

Job Objective

The Co-pilot’s Departmental Head to whom he is responsible when not reporting directly to a Captain, is his Base Senior Pilot or, if none is assigned, the Fleet Captain or OM.

•Confirm the safe navigation of the helicopter, maintaining a continuous and independent check upon both the geographical position of the helicopter and its safe terrain clearance.
•Volunteer such advice, information and assistance to the Captain, as may contribute favourably towards the safe and efficient conduct of the flight.
•Seek and receive such information and/or explanation from the Captain, as may be necessary to enable the First Officer to fulfil his function.
•Alert the Captain at anytime the Co-Pilot considers that the Aircraft flight profile is in non-compliance with Company Standard Operating Procedures, a laid down parameter is likely to be exceeded, or at any stage the safe conduct of the flight in danger of being compromised.
•Maintain a high personal standard of discipline, conduct and appearance as a representative of the Company.
•Support the Captain, by active example, in the development and maintenance of a high standard of professional expertise and morale amongst the crew, when carried.
•On a flight where a cabin crew member is not carried, his responsibilities are those appropriate to the task as detailed above.
•Co-Pilot should be competent to handle the aircraft during certain phases of flight on instruction from the Captain. During such phases of flight, the Captain will carry out the Co-Pilot duties but still hold full command responsibility. Due to their inexperience Co-Pilot will not have the same handling standards as fully qualified Captains and it is in their interest to handle the aircraft as often as possible. The following is a guide to Captains giving Co-Pilot handling experience.

Take-Off:
•Captains may, at their discretion, allow Co-Pilot to take the controls during take-off.
Cruise:
•Captains should when practicable give Co-Pilot experience of handling the aircraft en-route, however, prior to handing over control, a briefing should be given that in the event of an emergency, the control of the aircraft will normally revert to the Captain.
Landings:
•Captains may, at their discretion, allow Co-Pilot to make the approach and landing. However, the Captain should retain control, should an approach and landing be necessary in conditions approaching normal limitations. (e.g. Gusting wind, marginal deck space, or heavy seas when landing on a ship.)
Briefing

The Data Analyst (HUMS) is responsible for supporting all HUMS activities of the GHC Helicopter fleet, The Data Analyst (HUMS) will function within a team involved in assisting the Part 145 Organization in the continued airworthiness of GHC’s HUMS equipped aircraft, the position requires compliance with QCAA Part M and Part 145 technical regulations and will involve continued interaction between all areas of the Company as well as external HUMS support providers.

• Ensure all analysis request forms received from Engineering (Part 145) are actioned before further flight of that particular aircraft, including transmission of the subject data to any HUMS Support Provider for further analysis.
• Ensure all corrective actions received are passed to the Part 145 Organization for action in a timely manner, and ensure all requirements are entered into the Falcon system for tracking.
• File all correspondence, electronic and hard copies and maintain a complete updated index of all Data Analysis forms requested and received from Part 145 Supervisors, OEM’s, Technical Services and HUMS Support Providers.
• Update GHC AW 139 HUMS Exceedance Monitoring Log,
• Monitor the size of the HUMS Database to ensure it does not exceed the best size recommended for optimum HGS performance; perform HUMS Database shrinkage procedure on a bi-weekly interval.
• Develop and implement written policies and procedures for the improvement of the HUMS operation within GHC.
• The Data Analyst (HUMS) is responsible for; the reliability and serviceability of the HUMS ground station, software and hardware used within GHC in liaison with the IT Department, he is also responsible for the issuance and registering of username and passwords for individual HGS users.

• Have authority to give all commands he deems necessary for the purpose of securing the safety of the helicopter and of persons or property carried therein, and all persons carried in the helicopter shall obey such commands;

Description
• In the absence of a qualified Company Engineer, ensure that helicopter refuelling is supervised with particular attention being paid to:
• the correct grade and amount of fuel;
• fuel water checks;
• fire safety precautions;
• checking filler caps for security and correct replacement after refuelling
• Take all reasonable steps to ensure that the helicopter mass and balance is within the calculate limits for the operating conditions;
• Confirm that the helicopter’s performance will enable it to complete safely the proposed flight;
• Not permit any crew member to perform any activity during take-off, initial climb, final approach and landing except those duties required for the safe operation of the helicopter;
• Take all responsible steps to ensure that before take-off and before landing the flight crew are properly secured in their allocated seats;
• Take all reasonable steps to ensure that whenever the helicopter is taxiing, taking off or landing, or whenever he considers it advisable (e.g. in turbulent conditions), all passengers are properly secured in their seats, and all cabin baggage is stowed in the approved stowages;
• Ensure that the documents and manuals in para 8.1.12 are carried and will remain valid throughout the flight or series of flights;
• Ensure that the pre-flight inspection has been carried out.
• Ensure that the Daily Airworthiness Inspection has been carried out either by the Commander concerned or an engineer and that the CRS has been signed.
• Maintain a high personal standard of discipline, conduct and appearance as a representative of the Company.
• The pilot-in-command shall, in an emergency situation that requires immediate decision and action, take any action he considers necessary under the circumstances. In such cases he may deviate from rules, operational procedures, and methods in the interest of safety.
• The commander has the authority to apply greater safety margins including heliport operating minima if he deems it necessary.
• The commander must ensure that, in the event of third party maintenance being required while away from base, the procedures referred to in section 5 of the Helicopter Technical Log complied with.
• The commander must ensure that a continuous listening watch is maintained on the appropriate radio communication frequencies at all times whenever the flight crew is manning the aircraft for the purposes of commencing and/or conducting a flight and taxiing.
• Coach and mentor direct subordinates to develop their skills and ensure continuous people development.
• Perform any other duty as assigned by the Operations Manager / Deputy Operations Manager.
